Muscat – The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT), in partnership with Novaspace, has announced the second edition of the Middle East Space Conference, scheduled to take place in Muscat from January 26 to 28, 2026 under the patronage of
H H Sayyid Asaad bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan.
The three-day conference is expected to attract more than 450 senior decision-makers representing over 190 entities from more than 20 countries. It will bring together government officials, space agencies, industry leaders, investors, innovators and academic institutions to contribute to shaping the next phase of the Middle East’s space ecosystem.
Serving as a high-level platform for strategic dialogue and partnership-building, the conference underscores Oman’s growing role as a regional gateway for space applications, infrastructure development and investment attraction. It also highlights Oman’s commitment to fostering collaboration across the public and private sectors in the rapidly evolving global space industry.
The conference will address the strategic, operational and enabling aspects of space sector development in the region. Sessions will cover national space policies, space agency strategies, satellite programme development, ground systems, financing mechanisms and frameworks for international cooperation, reflecting the evolving space landscape in the sultanate.
Strong focus will be placed on practical applications of space technologies, particularly in satellite communications and Earth observation, and the role of these in supporting connectivity, urban development, the energy sector, climate resilience, environmental sustainability and the protection of critical infrastructure.
