Nizwa – The Projects, Tenders and Local Content Authority, in cooperation with Dakhliyah Governor’s Office, will hold the second Governorate Ambassadors Forum starting Tuesday. The three-day event aims to enhance institutional integration and facilitate the exchange of expertise among government entities.
The first edition of the forum was held in Muscat in May. The forum will be held periodically across Oman with the aim of standardising practices, developing institutional tools in contracts and tenders, and strengthening local content nationwide.
Said bin Hamad al Amri, Director General of Tenders at the authority, said the forum serves as a platform to strengthen the capabilities of local personnel and develop operational tools within governors’ offices. He said this aligns with efforts to empower governorates to assume broader responsibilities under the decentralisation framework, supporting balanced and sustainable development across the sultanate.

Amri informed that the forum will be attended by officials, engineers and specialists responsible for supervising government projects in Dakhliyah. It seeks to establish effective communication channels, exchange best practices in contracts, tenders and project management, and support local content, while also providing an opportunity to review key development projects implemented in the governorate.
He said the programme inclu-des several specialised sessions and workshops, most notably a workshop on bid evaluation covering technical and financial analysis guidelines, a presentation on automated analysis proposals on the ‘Esnad’ platform, and discussions on price indicators.
The first day will feature a workshop on government procurement and the Amanah platform, followed by an open discussion session reviewing key challenges related to the management of government projects.
The second day will be dedicated to field visits, including the Boulevard project and Nizwa Park, where participants will be briefed on implementation phases and development components. The programme also features a visit to the Oman Across Ages Museum in Manah.
Activities will continue on the third day with a workshop on urban development in the Al Aqr neighbourhood, focusing on urban rehabilitation concepts and enhancement of architectural identity, followed by a field tour of Nizwa.
