It’s being reported that gamers are hoping to get an early look at Grand Theft Auto 6 by flying drones around Rockstar Gaming’s office windows.
According to a Polish site that initially reported on the chaos, fans have been creating fake Rockstar employee IDs and then flying drones suspiciously close to office windows. I guess the goal is to capture early footage of Grand Theft Auto 6.
Deranged GTA 6 fans may cost us the game’s physical release
Rockstar has been super quiet about Grand Theft Auto 6 aside from two very visually appealing yet surface-level trailers. After waiting over 10 years for GTA 6 to arrive (and after multiple delays), the silence has clearly been killing die-hard fans of the series.
I remember reporting on moon cycles and zoomed-in receipts on developer’s kitchen tables last year as players continued to dig for clues on GTA 6’s release date, gameplay, story, anything. Then, gamers started taking things further, showing up to Rockstar Games’ studios. They peeked through windows at night, leaked tons of gameplay, shared unreleased posters…
This time, gamers are apparently flying drones around Rockstar’s office in hopes of seeing gameplay footage. Sharing this footage, however, would likely get the individual in trouble with the law. Remember the 18-year-old who hacked Rockstar back in 2022? He has been in a hospital prison since 2022.
The same Polish site that reported the drone lunatics previously shared that Rockstar may not release physical copies of Grand Theft Auto 6 until February 2027. The apparent reason for delaying physical copies is to ensure no one gets hold of a copy and leaks the game in advance.
Rockstar is clearly getting very paranoid, and for good reason at this rate.
