Dubai – Dr. J. Retnakumar (Oman) has been elected for a second consecutive term as the Global Chairman of the World Malayalee Federation (WMF), the world’s largest expatriate Malayalee organization present in 167 countries .
The new administrative committee for the 2026-2027 term was announced during the fifth biennial Global Convention held in Dubai.
This reappointment recognizes the excellent leadership provided by Dr. Retnakumar over the past two years in strengthening the organization in 167 countries and implementing various projects for the welfare of non-resident Keralites.
He assumed office after taking the oath from the Founder chairman Dr. Prince Pallikunnel at the convention held in Dubai. Along with Dr. J. Retnakumar, the new Global Cabinet also took charge.
The key members of the cabinet include Global President Dr. Annie Libu, Global Coordinator Sunil S. S, Global Secretary Anand Hari, and Global Treasurer V. M. Siddique. The newly appointed Board of Directors members are Founder Chairman Dr. Prince Pallikkunnel (Austria), Global Chairman Dr. J Ratnakumar (Oman), Poulose Theppala (Qatar), Hareesh Nair (Benin), Nizar Edathummeethal (Haiti), Tom Jacob (Kuwait), and Shihab Kottukad (Saudi Arabia).
Speaking after assuming charge, Dr. J. Retnakumar announced that new action plans will be formulated for the welfare of Malayalis worldwide. He stated that priority will be given to activities that uphold the social responsibility of the expatriate community, such as the Wayanad rehabilitation project, as well as global networking systems that support expatriate business entrepreneurs and students.
Dr. J. Retnakumar, a well-known figure in Oman’s arts, culture, and insurance sectors, has already received numerous international awards. He is the founder of Bhavalaya Art and Cultural Foundation, as well as the Chairman of the Indian Science Forum Oman and the Malayalam Mission Oman Chapter.
