Netflix horror series All of us are Dead received critical acclaim when it first landed in 2022, but fans are still waiting for a second season.

The South Korean thriller follows a group of students getting through another ordinary day at high school when a zombie virus is set loose.

‘Act fast, run for your life, and, most importantly. don’t get bitten,’ the synopsis concludes.

Starring Park Ji-Hu, Yoon, Chan-young, Cho Yi-hyun and Lomon, our adrenaline-fuelled characters must dive and dodge ‘flesh-eating zombies, messy love triangles and school bullies’.

The show, based on a webtoon by Joo Dong-geun, was a certified success, bursting into the top 10 in more than 90 countries and even spending some time in Netflix’s top 10 non-English language TV shows of all time.

After securing 89% on Rotten Tomatoes, Netflix quickly renewed the show for a second season, but as we enter our fourth year, it is still nowhere to be seen.

Unfortunately, for those hoping this might be the year we finally receive the new episodes – it’s not looking good. The 2026 K-drama slate provided by Netflix did not include All of us are Dead season two, meaning it could be as late as 2027.

If this is the case, that means it will have been half-a-decade between the first and second season, a gap longer than most major returning shows on Netflix, including Stranger Things.

In July 2025, Netflix provided an update to confirm the second season was still going ahead, and production had begun.

Describing what to expect, Tudum added: ‘[The show] picks up with Nam On-jo studying at university in Seoul, still haunted by trauma and loss she endured.

‘Just as she’s trying to move forward, a new outbreak erupts in the city, forcing her – and new university friends Yong Ma-ru, So Ju-ran, and Lee Jong-ah – into a desperate fight for their lives.

‘Meanwhile, Lee Cheong-san, Choi Nam-ra, and Lee Su-hyeok each grapple with the aftermath of the disaster and the ways it’s shaped the course of their lives in the years since the original outbreak.

‘Han Doo-seok steps into the story as a team leader within the National Intelligence Service.’

The first season of the show enjoyed plenty of praise from fans for its ‘thrilling’ plotline that left you on the edge of your seat.

Fans have called the show ‘immersive’ and ‘masterfully visceral’ (Picture: Yang Hae-sung/Netflix)

‘Never been so attached to a group of characters, the zombies are really realistic and the show was so immersive. Every single aspect of the show is top notch,’ Lemon E wrote on Rotten Tomatoes.

‘It could have some fat cut off, but All of Us Are Dead is a masterfully visceral series with a genuinely heart-wrenching emotional centre,’ Teddy B shared.

‘Intense, scary, gory.. everything you want when it comes to zombies and more. I was hooked from episode one and binge-watched the entire season in 2 days because I just couldn’t get enough of it! ‘ Ashley M echoed.

All of us are Dead season one is streaming on Netflix now.
