So, after all that, it turns out Emmerdale’s Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) was the one to rise against slave master Ray Walters (Joe Absolom) and kill him.
The whodunnit began after Ray’s body was found in the back of Jai Sharma’s (Chris Bisson) van, and with a huge amount of suspects, it was impossible to guess with certainty who could have killed the drug dealer.
Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) was a front runner wanting to avenge what Ray had done to April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan).
Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) and even April were also likely suspects, along with Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) and Ross Barton (Mike Parr).
After Celia Daniels’ (Jaye Griffiths) death, the Emmerdale world was led to believe Bear too had been offed, which directly led to Ray’s decision to stab his own mum out of grief for the loss of his father figure.
But Ray was mistaken to think he had seen Bear’s dead body. Bear was very much alive and made a timely entrance at Tenant House where son Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) was being beaten to a pulp.
Ray had cruelly told Paddy that his dad had suffered an excruciating death at the hands of Celia, and Paddy snapped – intending his own revenge on Ray and a trip to the police. Ray had other ideas and turned the tables on Paddy.
Enter Bear, who, in a daze, grabbed Ray around the neck and squeezed until he collapsed, dead.
Bear didn’t seem to be fully aware of what he’d done, but he knew he had to save Paddy. Two mysteries solved – of who did in Ray and in what happened to B-Dawg.
But though Bear is back safe and sound after being kept as a forced labourer all these months they are now as a family facing problem number two – he’s a killer.
Bear reveals what happened to Anya, which also isn’t a great look given that he dug her grave. Ruby Miligan (Beth Cordingly) lies to the old man that the ribbon he tied to a tree worked and that she’s been found. Bear recalls her last moments and how Ray tried to help her, but a guilt-ridden Ruby is not in a place to hear it.

As she lashes out, Paddy is quick to react and manhandles her to the door. He then spots DS Walsh arriving and realises things are about to get worse – there’s no way Bear won’t accidentally mention what he did.
Walsh questions Bear about Anya and he makes a huge decision to reveal that he dug her grave for Ray. A risky move.
DS Walsh brings up the blanket that Anya was buried in, which sends Bear into a confused spin, causing Paddy to panic and jump in to protect his dad. Suspicious behaviour – will Paddy give Bear away?
