Muscat – Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth (MCSY) have held a formal meeting with the world-renowned UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and his accompanying delegation during his current visit to Oman.
The discussions centered on the athlete’s presence in the country and explored various avenues related to sporting development and cultural exchange. This high-level reception underscores Oman’s ongoing commitment to engaging with international sporting icons to inspire the local youth and enhance the Sultanate’s position on the global athletic stage. The visit of the former undefeated champion is expected to further promote interest in professional sports and international cooperation within the region.
Khabib is a former professional mixed martial artist who competed in the lightweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He was the longest-reigning UFC Lightweight Champion ever, having held the title from April 2018 to March 2021. With 29 wins and no losses, he retired with an undefeated record.
