ARC Raiders’ latest update brought a bunch of new content to the extraction shooter that’s sure to keep it at the forefront of gamers’ minds, even with Highguard getting released and Deadlock getting new content. However, some players are focused on a single part of the patch notes they’re unhappy with.
In the Anti-Cheat section of the patch notes, developers outlined a new “three strike” system for banning cheaters. Basically, you will be suspended for 30 days once you are caught cheating, then 60 days once you are caught cheating again, and then you will finally get permanently banned once you are caught a third time.

ARC Raiders players are sick of cheaters
ARC Raiders has been under fire for weeks due to an ongoing cheating epidemic. Casual players and streamers alike have begged Embark Studios to strengthen its anti-cheating protocols after encountering cheaters in nearly every game.
On January 8th, Embark finally responded to the ongoing frustration. The team claimed that the anti-cheat system would be improved and they hoped to detect and remove cheaters at a higher frequency.
Now, players are wondering (and worrying) if this new update is the improved system.
Giving cheaters multiple chances has outraged a lot of gamers on X (formerly Twitter). Said one ARC Raiders player: “Why the f*** do people running rigged hardware have three chances on the same account? They need to implement a legal clause in their TOS or something; this is two chances too many.”
The “too many chances” sentiment was shared by plenty of ARC Raiders fans. Was Embark scared of losing players? Some players, however, noted that mistakes can happen, with innocent people getting mistakenly banned all the time. This was possibly to avoid something like that happening.
Another player brought up, in this case, that cheaters should be instantly banned and have the chance to appeal.
With cheaters continuing to plague ARC Raiders, the seemingly lax rules surrounding cheating has definitely not sat well with the playerbase. How about that Solo vs. Squads though, huh?
