Midnight pre-patch Void Perforations quest broken due to phasing bug – here’s the workaround

The second phase of the WoW Midnight pre-patch is now live, and with it, the actual event has begun. Players can head to the Twilight Highlands and interact with the new event for the quests and build-up to Midnight. However, it seems that one of the World Quests is causing issues with completion for the event. That would be WoW’s Void Perforations world quest, failing to track the void tears properly.

If you want to complete this world quest before the hotfix comes in, then there are a few tricks you can do. The main one seems to be that this is related to a bug with phasing. If you have a character that has completed the Twilight Highlands questline from leveling through Cataclysm, then you’re likely experiencing the bug. Thankfully, these world quests are account-bound, so as long as you get to the quest on one character that has not done Twilight Highlands normally, you can easily complete it on your main’s behalf.

If that, for some reason, is out of the picture, there are a few zoning and phasing techniques you can do on your main. One is to go to the Crucible of Carnage and wait for the text to pop up, and the zone filtering should begin. From there, use your normal accelerate on your Skyriding, and you should be able to hit one Void Tear before phasing back out again. It might take a while, but it’s kind of doable.

Outside of that, you’re waiting for the world quest to fix up. It shouldn’t take too long with a spare Midnight expansion boost, a Legion Timewalking leveled character or something you level on the side like a Void Elf Demon Hunter.

The World Quest is up for another day or two, depending on what region you’re in. So, there’s plenty of time to work on this on the side or await the hotfix. There’s daily hotfixes so far, but the world quest is not among them just yet.
