New Years Eve tends to prompt Instagram users to drop a carousel of their ‘greatest hits’ from the year. Accomplishments, achievements and a few drunken selfies from a fire night out. Emmerdale star Georgia Jay didn’t need a carousel to display her ‘greatest hit’ of 2025, though, as she took to the ‘gram with just one, beautiful, black and white snap of her and her baby.

Captioning the post simply: ‘Nora, June 2025’, the Steph Miligan actress revealed her daughters name, and that she’d actually given birth six months ago, shortly after she announced her pregnancy!

Quite rightly, the comment section was flooded with nothing but love.

Beth Cordingly, who plays Georgia’s on-screen mum, Ruby Miligan, wrote: ‘You are perfect and so is she. Love you x.’

Kerry Wyatt actress, Laura Norton also commented: ‘Yay congrats gorgeous’, while Michelle Hardwick, who plays Vanessa Woodfield added: ‘Gorgeous’ amid a slew of congratulations from friends and fans alike.

Having previously displayed on her bump in a TikTok video alongside Beth and Bradley Riches (Lewis Barton), Georgia officially took to Instagram to announce her pregnancy.

‘As you’ve probably guessed, I’ve got some news to share!’ she began the caption.

‘I know some of you have been wondering if you’ve been seeing a little bump on screen lately…well, it’s not your imagination…I’m having a baby!

‘We’ve never been so excited and a little nervous all at once. Thank you for all the love and support.’

Georgia first appeared as Steph in 2024, the daughter of Ruby and Caleb Miligan (William Ash), although it quickly became apparent that not all was as it seemed.

Amid the disappearance of her grandfather, Anthony Fox (Nicholas Day), Steph became convinced that her parents were hiding something and, as it turned out, she was bang on the money.

Viewers learned that Anthony had sexually abused Ruby and, worse still, was the father of Steph. When Steph learned that Ruby had murdered Anthony, she was faced with the bleak truth that she was the product of horrific child abuse.

Steph even attempted to undergo cosmetic surgery to remove any likeness to the man who sired her, though Caleb informed the surgeon of the reasoning behind her desire for facial surgery and he cancelled the procedure.

Finding out she was the product of abuse traumatised Steph (Picture: ITV/Mark Bruce/Shutterstock)

After getting involved with Ross Barton (Mike Parr), he proved to be a tower of strength for Steph as she navigated her new reality. Though their dalliance was initially a way for her to irritate her parents, it soon evolved into something much deeper, with Ross declaring his love for Steph, though their courtship was incredibly on-and-off.

His fling with Manpreet Sharmer (Rebecca Sarker) while the two were broken up, came back to bite him on the back-end, after he’d lied to Steph that he hadn’t been with anyone while they were apart.

Unable to trust him again, Steph booked herself into an incredibly boujie-sounding yoga retreat in Italy and, with the support of Ruby and Caleb, departed the village to recover from all of the trauma she’d experienced.
