Muscat – The prices of gold and silver in Oman reached significant milestones on Monday, following a global surge in precious metal values.
Retail markets in Oman saw 24-karat gold priced at RO 55.00 per gram, while the popular 22-karat gold jewellery grade stood at RO 51.35 per gram. Lower purities also reflected the trend, with 21-karat gold reaching RO 49.02 and 18-karat gold retailing at RO 42.01 per gram.
Silver followed this upward trajectory, hitting a record high of RO 26.62 per ounce, which translates to approximately RO 0.86 per gram for pure silver. These record-breaking figures come amid increased investor interest and shifts in international monetary policies, marking a historic year for commodities in the region.
