Al Wusta to host Winter Events from Jan to Mar 2026

Duqm – Al Wusta has announced Al Wusta Winter Events 2026, scheduled to run from January to March, as part of efforts to promote the governorate’s tourism potential and highlight its cultural and heritage assets.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Muslim al Kathiri, Governor of Al Wusta, said the initiative aims to stimulate tourism and economic activity, while consolidating the governorate’s position as an emerging tourism destination. He informed that it also supports small and medium enterprises and provides a platform to showcase the cultural heritage and traditions of local communities.

The Al Wusta Winter Events 2026 programme includes a wide range of cultural, entertainment and sports activities, alongside heritage events, traditional markets and artistic performances. Designed to cater to all segments of society, the events are expected to attract visitors from  the governorate as well as other parts of the sultanate.

Key attractions include a shooting competition, a music concert, camel races and a camel beauty contest (mazayna), in addition to Ramadan-themed activities and Eid al Fitr celebrations. Events will be organised across various wilayats of the governorate.

Held under an integrated timetable, Winter Events 2026 aims to offer visitors a distinctive tourism experience that reflects Oman’s authentic identity, while supporting sustainable development and reinforcing tourism’s role as a contributor to local economic growth.
