Muscat – The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth (MCSY), in collaboration with Oman Post, has launched two commemorative postage stamps celebrating the sultanate’s participation in major international design and architecture exhibitions, highlighting its growing cultural presence on the global stage.
The first stamp documents Oman’s debut at London Design Biennale 2025 through the artistic installation Memory Grid, which presented a contemporary interpretation of memory and digital archiving. Designed by Haitham al Busafi, the work reflected the evolving relationship between data, preservation and collective memory, drawing inspiration from traditional storage vessels reimagined as symbols of the digital age.
According to MCSY, the commemorative stamp serves as a living archive of Oman’s first participation in the London event, underscoring the role of creative youth in reinforcing Omani identity in international cultural forums.

The second stamp marks Oman’s inaugural participation in Venice Architecture Biennale 2025, featuring an installation titled Athar. The work offers a modern interpretation of the Omani sablah as a social and cultural space for dialogue, communication and decision-making within the community.
Through these stamps, Oman Post and the ministry aim to preserve key moments of Omani cultural achievement, using philately as a medium to document national creativity and engagement with global artistic platforms.
The stamps reflect Oman’s commitment to promoting cultural dialogue and showcasing national talent, while ensuring landmark participations in international exhibitions are preserved as part of the country’s visual and cultural memory, MCSY stated.
