Reaffirms Commitment to Zamfara’s Sustainable Development

Governor Dauda Lawal has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to placing Zamfara State on the path of sustainable development following the commissioning of major projects in Anka Local Government Area.

The governor, on Tuesday, inaugurated and flagged off multiple development initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure, governance, security, and education in the area.

According to a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, the projects include the reconstruction and equipping of the Emir’s Palace, the commencement of work on the Anka–Abbare Road, and the construction of a new Anka Local Government Secretariat.

Other initiatives unveiled include offices for the Hisbah Commission and Community Protection Guards, as well as the reconstruction of the SAFE School in Anka.

Speaking during the commissioning, Governor Lawal urged residents and traditional institutions to support the government’s development agenda and ensure proper maintenance of the projects.

He said the Anka–Abbare Road would improve access to rural communities and stimulate economic activities, while the new secretariat would provide a conducive working environment for civil servants and strengthen public service delivery.

The governor noted that providing offices for security and community protection agencies would enhance law enforcement and community safety, while the SAFE School project is part of efforts to create secure and supportive learning environments for students.

Lawal also emphasised the importance of traditional institutions, stating that the reconstruction of the Emir’s Palace reflects the government’s recognition of their role in preserving culture and supporting development.

He added that additional projects in Tsafe have been completed, while commissioning in Kaura Namoda and Moriki is expected soon. Projects in Bungudu, Bukkuyum, and Zurmi, he said, are progressing and will be completed before the end of the year.

The governor reiterated that the ongoing initiatives align with his administration’s broader strategy to promote infrastructure development, security, education, and effective governance across Zamfara State.
