Nizwa – The fourth round of the Al Rabat Local Arabian Horse Beauty Championship officially commenced on Tuesday evening in Nizwa, Dakhliyah Governorate. The two-day event features the participation of over 60 purebred Arabian horses, competing across seven distinct categories. Organised through a strategic partnership between the Dakhliyah Governorate and Harat al Aqr, the championship is held under the supervision of the European Conference of Arab Horse Organizations (ECAHO) and in coordination with the Oman Equestrian and Racing Federation.

The opening ceremony was attended by Sheikh Hilal bin Saeed al Hajri, Governor of Dakhiliyah, who emphasised that the event serves to highlight the cultural significance of Arabian horses as a cornerstone of Omani identity. Beyond its heritage value, the championship aims to support local breeders, stimulate sports tourism, and bolster economic activity within the region. Complementing the equestrian competition, an exhibition for entrepreneurs and artisans has been established to showcase local crafts and support small and medium-sized enterprises in alignment with Oman Vision 2040.
