Muscat – Royal Oman Police (ROP) have struck two significant blows against drug trafficking networks following successful operations in the Wilayats of Bausher and Barka. Led by the Directorate General for Combatting Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, these actions highlight the Sultanate’s rigorous commitment to intercepting illicit shipments and dismantling local distribution hubs.
In the first operation, authorities tracked a suspicious package arriving from a European country. This led to the arrest of an individual in Bosher who was caught receiving the shipment through a local delivery firm. A detailed search revealed a quantity of cocaine sophisticatedly concealed inside a water pump.
Separately, in Barka, police neutralised a large-scale possession operation, apprehending a suspect found with a substantial cache of hashish, crystal meth, and morphine. Investigations indicate that both suspects intended to traffic the narcotics. Legal proceedings have been initiated in both cases as the ROP continues to heighten surveillance across the country.
