The Traitors star Harriet Tyce has said she is ‘ashamed’ of how she lost her temper with Roxy.
The barrister turned crime thriller writer was banished from the Scottish castle after an audacious kamikaze move in Wednesday night’s episode.
Speaking exclusively to Metro, Harriet explained how she felt ‘awful’ watching herself shout at her fellow Faithful at the breakfast table as she launched an attack against Traitor Rachel.
‘Unfortunately, and I’m not proud of it at all, I did lose my temper and I really wish I hadn’t. I wish that it had gone a different way,’ she said.
Asked whether she has spoken to Roxy since, the 53-year-old added: ‘We’ve met up, we’ve spoken to each other. I messaged her again watching it last night saying, “God, this is awful. I’m so sorry… that I shouted. I really wish that I hadn’t”. I was so deep in the game though.
‘She said she was deep in the game, too, and it was a hard watch for her… I was definitely worse, don’t get me wrong, but there was a lot of emotion going on there and you don’t really want to show that level of raw emotion on television to the nation.
‘But I think what it demonstrates is the power of the game, and why The Traitors is such an incredible programme for viewers… some people handle stress better than others.’

Discussing her opportunity to meet the Traitors, she described it as a ‘poisoned chalice’ that saw her time in the castle come to an end.
‘I tried to think of clever questions,’ she confessed.
‘The internet is awash with clever questions that I should have asked, but I didn’t have very long to think about it, and I still can’t think of what the clever way would have been to extract information. It was just doomed.’
Many fans were surprised that the crime novel writer did not mention Fiona in her argument as to why she thought Rachel was a traitor.
Asked about this final showdown at the roundtable, she alleged that the show’s producers edited out some of her comments.
‘I’m not responsible for the edits. What we see is what we see,’ she said.
‘All I can say is that Rachel makes reference in different points in the episode to the fact that it was a long speech. So you can put your own sums together.’
The contestant also explained how as a result of the smoke and mirrors challenge, she was ‘done’ in the game.
‘The thing I’ve discovered through this game of lies and deception is that actually truth and integrity are very important to me,’ she revealed.
‘At no point did I ever vote for anyone that I didn’t believe to be a traitor. However mistaken I might have been, it was an honestly self belief.
‘If I’d just continued as Rachel’s friend, then sooner or later, I would have had to do a strategic vote for somebody, not believing them to be a traitor, and I wouldn’t have liked that. I don’t think that would have sat well with me.
‘So I say it blew my game up, but it also got me out of a situation I was finding increasingly difficult.’
