David and Victoria Beckham are said to be horrified by Brooklyn’s recent claims about them, but are still keen to mend fences.
The eldest of the Beckham children shared a scathing six-page statement addressing his alleged family feud earlier this week on Instagram.
The 26-year-old hot sauce salesman and chef alleged that his parents tried to sabotage his wedding to Nicola Peltz and that Victoria acted inappropriately at the wedding.
He finished by saying that he does not want to reconcile with his family and is standing up for himself.
Despite their son’s outburst, however, a source has told People.com that David and Victoria do not hold a grudge against their son.
‘They are afraid of losing their son and would take him back in a minute,’ a source close to the family said.
‘They are a close family, too. Just in a different way than Nicola’s family is. They love Brooklyn and are horrified about everything.’
Meanwhile, a second source claimed that the pair are playing the long game with this
‘David and Victoria believe time will heal this,’ they claimed.
‘They know over time that Brooklyn will come back. They can’t really do anything until then.’
Metro has contacted the Beckhams for comment.
The news comes after DJ Fat Tony, who performed at Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding, addressed the allegations that Victoria had embarrassed her son during the first dance.
‘There was no slut dropping, there was no PVC cat suits, no Spice Girl action,’ he explained. ‘The word “inappropriate”, why I said it was as well, it was the timing, this is what happened.’
However, the 60-year-old did seemingly confirm the rumours that Marc Anthony had embarrassed the happy couple.
‘Marc Anthony was performing on stage,’ Tony continued.’He then called Brooklyn on stage, he went onto the stage, everyone was expecting it to be Nicola to be the first dance, then Marc Anthony asked “the most beautiful woman” to come to the stage.
‘Then he says “Victoria, come to the stage”, Victoria is by the stage, she goes onto the stage, of course, at that point, suddenly, literally, Brooklyn is devastated, he thought he was going to do his first dance with his wife.’
Following this, Tony explained that Nicola left the room ‘crying her eyes out’ while Brooklyn was stuck on stage.
Things were made more awkward when Marc Anthony then asked Brooklyn to hold his mother’s hips as they danced.
‘That whole situation was really awkward for everyone in the room.’
