A new year is coming and with it a new type of ready meal – one specifically made for those taking weight loss jabs.
Yes, 2025 has certainly been the year people went wild for Wegovy, Ozempic and Mounjaro, so much so that food products are now being created to work alongside the injectables.
It’s no secret that the drugs – often called GLP-1 agonists – reduce people’s appetites, so they feel less hungry throughout the day and increase feelings of fullness, so people eat less when they do tuck into a dish.
With around two million people in the UK thought to be using GLP-1s, Morrisons is now getting ahead of the curve and has unveiled a new range of food products specifically designed to target those using weight loss medications.
The supermarket is set to launch a selection of 53 Applied Nutrition items on shelves in January, and seven of these products will be known as ‘Small & Balanced’ meals.
These meals have all been ‘created to deliver a nutrient-dense and controlled portion tailored to the needs of customers embarking on a weight-loss journey with medications such as Ozempic, Wegovy or Mounjaro’.
What is in Morrisons’ Small & Balanced meals range?
The Small & Balanced range will feature several classic meals, including spaghetti and meatballs, cottage pie, sweet chilli prawn noodles and chicken casserole.
Prices will start from £3.75, and each ready meal is available as a single-serve tray and comes in microwave-friendly packaging.
The wider nutrition range also features pizzas, protein pasta, protein ice cream, cheeses and to-go items like chicken fajita wraps and salads.
Speaking about the new items, Lizzy Massey, own brand director at Morrisons, said: ‘With more customers taking steps to improve their health and wellness, it feels like a natural step forward to welcome Applied Nutrition’s exclusive collaboration with us to Morrisons aisles.
‘The new range has been carefully designed with their expert team to help supplement customers’ nutrition while on their fitness and weight loss journeys, and we’re delighted to welcome the broad range to Morrisons, offering our shoppers even more choice, at great value.’
When does Morrisons’ Applied Nutrition range launch?
The Applied Nutrition range will be exclusive to Morrisons, and customers can buy the products in-store and online from January 2, 2026.

In other supermarket news, M&S shoppers have been rushing to the Food Hall to get their hands on new Christmas desserts that have been hailed as ‘scrumptious’.
The selection includes a Sticky Toffee Trifle and Shimmering Clementine Cheesecake.
And an own-brand supermarket cheese beat out competition from big names like Cathedral City to be crowned the ‘best in the UK’.
It was Tesco’s product that beat out the likes of Pilgrims Choice and Davidstow to come out on top, garnering a score of 78%, being praised for its taste and ‘firm, smooth’ texture.
And Morrisons also went viral for another new treat, which baffled shoppers as it tasted just like cheesecake, despite not actually containing any.
