1975 was quite the year in Hollywood history with some truly groundbreaking movies being produced even as the US went through a period of social and political upheaval. This documentary takes a look at how the era gave rise to such films as Taxi Driver, Dog Day Afternoon, Jaws and One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, interspersing clips with the usual talking heads and big-name interviews. Some critics have suggested it barely scratches the surface of the year, cramming an awful lot into a 90 minute runtime, but it’s still an entertaining watch for 70s movie fans and nostalgia freaks alike.

The film, which includes Squid Game’s Park Hae-Soo among its cast, follows a devastating flood which has engulfed planet Earth after a comet collides with Antarctica. As water levels rise, the future of humanity may depend on the occupants of a slowly submerging apartment block, among them a researcher and her young son.

4. Emily In Paris: Season 5

Emily in Paris. Lily Collins as Emily in Emily in Paris. Cr. Giulia Parmigiani/Netflix ?? 2025
OK, so it’s not so much Emily in Paris for the long-awaited fifth season of the show as Emily In Rome, but despite the change in location we’re on comfortably familiar territory here as Lily Collins brings the titular marketing executive back for a fifth run of episodes. The move to the Italian capital comes as Emily heads off on a new adventure, with her Italian lover Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini) in tow. Romance and drama follows in spades – and of course Emily is as stylishly dressed as ever.
