As per a report from Sky Sports, the Saudi Pro League could be about to launch an ambitious bid to sign current Ballon d’Or holder Ousmane Dembélé (27).
Dembélé won the Ballon d’Or back in September, but it has been an injury-hit season for the Frenchman at Paris Saint-Germain. Only now is he beginning to once again discover his top form, having returned to full fitness.
Dembouz is focused on securing more silverware with PSG this season, as well as nailing down a spot in the France starting line-up ahead of the FIFA World Cup in the summer, however, there is uncertainty about his long-term future.
There are currently talks over a contract extension at PSG but it is unclear whether the reigning European champions are able to meet Dembélé’s wage demands. The club are stubborn about not handing out big contracts, as they once did.
It is within this context that the Saudi Pro League are laying the groundwork for a summer move, Sky Sports understands. They speak of a “big package” being prepared in order to lure the France international away from the Parc des Princes at the end of the season.
