Perrie Edwards has announced the birth of her baby daughter on social media with a sweet picture and name reveal.
The Little Mix star, 32, already shares one four-year-old son, Axel, with footballer fiancé Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and has now welcomed her second child.
In an Instagram post on Saturday, she shared a black-and-white picture of the newborn leaning on her chest, faced away from the camera.
On the baby’s back rests each person’s hand, one on top of the other, in a sweet display of family unity.
The Brit award-winning singer simply captioned the post with her daughter’s name, Alanis Valentine, followed by a heart emoji.
Congratulations have poured in for the mother-of-two, who received a wave of support earlier this year after opening up about experiencing two miscarriages.
Her Little Mix co-star Leigh-Anne Pinnock commented: ‘Perfect little angel’ and Jade Thirwall echoed: ‘So happy for you all, can’t wait to meet her. Pixie Lott added: ‘congratulations so beautiful!!!’.
As fans flocked to offer their well-wishes, several shared their delight at the sweet name.
User livjaynegx said: ‘oh my goodness what a beautiful name’ while imogenhorton praised ‘how perfect’.
‘What a beautiful name, oh my, the cutest little thing ever,’ badmixeditor wrote.
The link between Perrie Edwards daughter and her X Factor audition
Perrie Edwards kicked her career path to fame with an X Factor audition in 2011 at the age of 17 with the Alanis Morrisette song, You Oughta Know, which led to her forming part of the girl group, Little Mix.
The singer has often called the hit music artist one of her inspirations gorwing up.
Perrie announced her pregnancy in September in a video in which she is wearing a crop top which reads ‘if he wanted to he would’ on the back. As she turns around, the front of the shirt says: ‘And he did’ with her baby bump on full display as Alex and Axel hop into frame.
The caption of the post was: ‘Guess what hunnies.’
It has been a big few months for Perrie, who also released her self-titled debut solo album in September 2025.
Discussing the two major life events happening at similar times, she told Women in Pop: ‘Yes! I have the birth of my album and the birth of my child coming and I can’t believe it’s all fallen at the same time. It’s wild.
Obviously it wasn’t planned, but I feel like it’s worked out to be good, because I can promote the album, I can work my ass off, get the album out there, and then the industry kind of switches off at Christmas and January. So really, the timing works out perfectly. I’m excited, I love a challenge!’
She also praised her mum Debs’ support, calling her ‘my everything’, adding: ‘we just run this world together’.
In August, fans rushed to support Perrie after she detailed the ‘worst day of her life’ in a candid interview with Paul C Brunson on his podcast, We Need to Talk.
During the interview she opened up about the two miscarriages she has endured for the first time.
In the emotional chat, she shared that Axel was a ‘rainbow baby’, a term used for children born after a family has previously lost one or more children.
Her second miscarriage was at 22 weeks, which occurred little over a year after Axel was born.
‘I’ve never experienced an out-of-body experience where everything goes in slow motion,’ she recalled at the time.
