A pastry chef has died in a freak accident after getting caught in an industrial dough mixing machine.
Mordehay Grunberger, 71, from Florida, US, was killed on Friday following an accident with a bread-mixing machine at South Florida Kosher Market.
An investigation remains underway but so far police have said they do not suspect any foul play.
Mr Grunberger’s wife, Inna Maor, paid tribute to her husband in a post on Facebook.
She wrote: ‘Today, my beloved husband Miki, my closest person in my life, my best friend, and father of my two beautiful sons, tragically passed away.
‘I lost myself. I love him so much. He’s the love of my life!’
Mr Grunberger’s biography on his Facebook account suggests he was a pastry chef at the South Florida Kosher Market.
Police said the incident happened at around 4am but officers did not arrive at the scene until nearly eight hours later.
Maria Pinilos, spokesperson for the North Miami Beach Police Department (NMBPD), said officers attended the scene at 11.40am after reports of an accident within the shop, the Miami Herald reported.
In a statement, the police department said: ‘The NMBPD is currently investigating the death of a male at South Florida Kosher Market.
‘At this time, there are no signs of foul play, and the incident was accidental involving an industrial dough mixer.
‘The victim has been identified as 71-year-old Mordehay Grunberger. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration responded to the scene as well.’
