Pair charged after allegedly smuggling heroin worth $32 million from China

Two Western Sydney men have been busted allegedly trying to smuggle over 60kg of heroin into Australia.

The pair landed in Brisbane after flying in from China yesterday, when an X-ray examination of their luggage raised suspicions.

Further searches allegedly found multiple blue satchels containing a white powder substance, which was hidden in the lining of wallets, pencil cases and laptop bags.

Around 65kg of heroin was allegedly found.

It has an estimated street value of $32 million.

The men, a 27-year-old from Lethbridge Park and a 25-year-old man from Tragear, were arrested at the scene by Australian Federal Police (AFP).
