Arne Slot may have won the Premier League with Liverpool last season but pressure is growing on the Reds boss after their latest defeat.
The champions were beaten 3-2 at Bournemouth on Saturday evening, recovering from 2-0 behind to equalise, only to lose the game in stoppage time.
It was Liverpool’s seventh Premier League defeat of the season, having only lost four times on their way to the title last campaign.
While a title challenge appears to be over, it is not a disastrous season just yet, with the Reds sitting fourth in both the Premier League and Champions League tables, while they are also still alive in the FA Cup.
However, Slot will be feeling the heat as the defence of their title has been extremely underwhelming despite spending a huge amount of money in the summer on the likes of Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez.
The Dutchman does not appear likely to lose his job imminently, but attention, in some quarters, has turned to who could replace him in the Anfield hotseat.
Especially as a Liverpool favourite, who has built an impressive reputation in management, has recently become unemployed.

Who is favourite to be next Liverpool manager?
Recently axed Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso is the shortest price to become the next Liverpool boss.
The 44-year-old played 210 times for the Reds from 2004-09, winning the Champions League and FA Cup along the way.
His immense playing career also saw him win a string of trophies for Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Spain.
The former midfielder quickly became one of the most wanted managers on the planet thanks to his heroics in charge of Bayer Leverkusen from 2022-25, winning the Bundesliga in 2024.

He moved to Real Madrid in June last year but things did not work out for him at the Santiago Bernabeu and he was sacked earlier this month, despite winning 70 per cent of his games in charge.
It did not go well at Real, but Alonso’s stock is still high, especially at a club where he was an immensely popular player.
The Spaniard is not quite a runaway favourite, though, as his compatriot, Paris Saint-Germain boss Luis Enrique is only just behind him in the betting.
Enrique landed an incredible treble last season as PSG won Ligue 1, the Champions League and the Coupe de France.
However, his current contract in the French capital expires next year and he is yet to sign a new deal with the club, adding to speculation that he could be tempted to move elsewhere.
Other candidates include Oliver Glasner, who is set to leave Crystal Palace at the end of the season when his contract expires, and former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, who has not taken a managerial role since leaving Anfield.
