Newcastle threw away a two-goal lead as Chelsea came from behind to secure a 2-2 draw in a thrilling game at St James’ Park on Saturday.
The Magpies were absolutely dominant in the first half with Nick Woltemade scoring twice and Chelsea failing to register a shot on target.
In the second half, Chelsea captain Reece James scored an incredible free-kick from 25 yards out before Newcastle were controversially denied a penalty for Trevoh Chalobah’s challenge on Anthony Gordon.
Joao Pedro levelled it up for the Blues just after the hour mark and both sides pushed for a late winner but they ended up with a point each.
