A major fire has broken out at the docks near Methil Harbour in Fife, with multiple lorries and trailers on fire sending up plumes of black smoke.
Scottish Fire and Rescue said: ‘Crews are attending a fire affecting HGVs at Methil Harbour.
‘There are seven fire appliances at the scene.
‘Due to heavy smoke, we advise people to avoid the area, and residents to keep their windows and doors closed as a precaution.’
Methil Harbour is north of Edinburgh in southeastern Scotland, sitting on the shore of the Firth of Forth estuary which opens into the North Sea.

Police Scotland Fife said the fire was ‘contained’, with no reported injuries, but also warned people to keep their windows closed.
They said in a statement: ‘Emergency services are in attendance following a vehicle fire in the Harbour View area of Methil which was reported around 9.20am on Sunday, 21 December, 2025.
‘The fire is contained and there are no reported injuries.
‘The area between Harbour View and South Street has since reopened however nearby residents are asked to keep windows and doors closed at this time.
‘Members of the public are asked to avoid the area where possible.’
