Muscat – Muscat Municipality signed a cooperation agreement with the National Survey and Geospatial Information Authority (NSGIA) last week aimed at enhancing urban planning and the management of parks and green spaces across the governorate.
The agreement was signed byAhmed bin Saeed al Amri, Chairman of Muscat Municipality, and Brig Gen (Naval) Nasser bin Ali al Harithi, Chairman of NSGIA.
The partnership focuses on conducting detailed topographic and geospatial surveys of parks, gardens and public green areas in Muscat governorate to provide accurate and updated spatial data for planning and development purposes.
Officials said the initiative will support sustainable urban planning, improve the efficiency of public facility management and contribute to environmental projects in line with efforts to enhance quality of life for residents.
The cooperation also aims to strengthen coordination between government entities through the use of modern geospatial technologies to support informed decision-making and long-term urban development strategies.
