Ibra – North Sharqiyah has unveiled design models for four major urban and tourism development projects in the wilayats of Bidiyah, Sinaw, Ibra and Mudhaibi, aimed at enhancing public spaces, stimulating economic activity and improving quality of life in line with Oman Vision 2040.
The Bidiyah Tourism View Development project is designed to boost domestic tourism and attract private investment. The project, which will be offered for investment through a public auction, covers an area of approximately 1.34mn sqm.
According to a statement, the development will focus on creating an integrated tourism destination that capitalises on Bidiyah’s natural and cultural assets. Planned facilities include a central plaza with traditional Omani restaurants and open cafés, pedestrian walkways, a popular market, and exploration and adventure areas. The project will also feature a dedicated zone for women-led services, alongside supporting facilities to enhance visitor experience and service levels.
The Sinaw View development, also known as the Green Corridor Project, is aimed at revitalising the city centre and upgrading public spaces. The project will be implemented over an area of about 14,790sqm in the heart of the wilayat.
A key feature of the project is a green corridor of around 1.2km, incorporating pedestrian walkways, cycling paths and designated vehicle routes. The development will include landscaped areas, community parks and recreational facilities, and culminate in a new city square expected to serve as a focal point for social and cultural activities.
The Ibra View development is a major urban initiative aimed at revitalising the city centre and enhancing its investment and tourism appeal. The project will cover an area of about 620,062sqm.
The master plan includes zones for community services, commercial and investment activities, residential areas and recreational use. Key components include a central mosque, a cultural centre, public parks, leisure facilities, and a central business district with offices and retail outlets. The project will feature an innovation zone with co-working spaces, offices, restaurants and a youth centre to support entrepreneurship.
In Mudhaibi, a design model was unveiled for the Mudhaibi View development, which combines heritage-inspired architecture with modern services and amenities. The project includes a smart gateway at the entrance, falaj walkways extending more than 1,300m, a modern restaurant and market area, a multi-purpose wing for commercial and community activities, and a traditional souq showcasing local crafts.
The plan includes a heritage-style hotel designed to cater to tourists seeking an authentic Omani experience. Officials said the project is expected to support small businesses, create employment opportunities and contribute to economic diversification.
The governorate stated that the four projects are aligned with Oman Vision 2040 objectives, focusing on sustainable urban development, private sector participation and balanced regional growth. Interested investors and stakeholders have been invited to engage with the projects through the North Sharqiyah Communication and Media Department.
