The Phoenix Suns returned to action Tuesday, looking to snap a brief two-game skid against the Brooklyn Nets.

With Jalen Green and Devin Booker sidelined due to injury, head coach Jordan Ott had to lean on other contributors.

That contribution came from none other than Mark Williams, who had one of his most impressive games for Phoenix since being acquired from Charlotte over the summer.

Williams finished with 27 points, the most he's scored in a Suns jersey. He did so on a tremendously efficient shooting night, going 13-for-15 from the field. He also grabbed five rebounds, added one steal, one block and recorded zero turnovers. Williams' dominance inside was a huge factor in the four-point victory as the Suns outscored the Nets 72-48 in the paint.

Dillon Brooks also came to play, scoring 26 points to go along with three rebounds and three assists. Grayson Allen and Jamaree Bouyea were the only other Suns to score in double-figures.

Following the game, Ott made clear his desire to get Williams much more involved. "We have to involve Mark. This is something that we'll definitely talk about going forward even when we are fully healthy, Mark has got to be a presence down there."

With the win, Phoenix moved to 28-19 on the season, nearly 10 games over .500. They are now tied for sixth in the Western Conference standings with the Minnesota Timberwolves and trail the Los Angeles Lakers by one game for the fifth seed.

That said, their next matchup will be especially tough, facing the Detroit Pistons who lead the Eastern Conference with a 34-11 record.

Following Thursday's game against Detroit, Phoenix will face the Cleveland Cavaliers Friday on the second night of a back-to-back.
