Jesy Nelson has reportedly split from her fiancé Zion Foster after four years together.
It comes after the Little Mix star shared the devastating news that her eight-month-old twin babies have been diagnosed with a condition that could result in them never being able to walk.
Nelson and fellow music artist Foster began dating in January 2022 after years of friendship and announced their engagement last September.
The 34-year-old gave birth prematurely to twin daughters in May last year, after a turbulent pregnancy.
A source has now told The Sun that Nelson is no longer wearing her ring after the couple got engaged four months ago.
The source said: ‘She and Zion remain friends and are fully focused on their daughters.
‘They are fully united in co-parenting. Their priority continues to be the well-being of their daughters.’
The shock split comes after the girl group alum shared a heartbreaking video with her Instagram followers, detailing the diagnosis of her twins Ocean Jade and Story Monroe with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 1.
In the video, Nelson described SMA as the ‘most severe muscular disease’.
‘The girls have now been diagnosed with a severe muscle disease called SMA type one. For those of you who don’t know what SMA type one is, it’s a severe muscular disease that a baby can get,’ she said.
‘It’s done for spinal muscular atrophy, which can affect, well, it does affect every muscle in the body, down to legs, arms, breathing, swallowing.
Her daughters were assessed at Great Ormond Street Hospital, where she was told that they would both be disabled as a result of the condition.
She noted that they have since begun treatment, telling her followers that without it, they would have died.
Symptoms of spinal muscular atrophy (SMA)
The symptoms of spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) affect everyone differently, but can include:
- bone and joint problems – such as an unusually curved spine (scoliosis)
- muscle weakness – such as floppy or weak arms and legs
- movement problems – such as difficulty sitting up, crawling or walking
- problems with breathing or swallowing
- twitching or shaking muscles (tremors)
The Black Magic singer openly shared details of her difficult pregnancy, as the couple shared that their twins ‘could die’ as a result of twin-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS).
The singer underwent a successful emergency procedure as a result and remained in the hospital to be monitored for the duration of her pregnancy before giving birth in May.
Nelson and Foster shared a sunset beach snap in September last year with news of their engagement, captioning the post: ‘Just got engaged to my best friend.’
While the couple did not speak about their brief split in 2023, the Little Mix star was removed from Foster’s Instagram page, and they had stopped following each other. In early 2024, it became clear they were back together.
Nelson and Foster released the R&B track Mine, following the Little Mix star’s exit from Polydor Records.
