WWE star calls Pat McAfee to reveal shocking 2026 Royal Rumble return

The 2026 Royal Rumble will look much different without John Cena’s presence, but one big-time WWE star looks poised for a major comeback.

After an impromptu call into The Pat McAfee Show on ESPN Wednesday, a former WWE champion revealed that he’s going to Saudi Arabia to compete in the highly-contested men’s Royal Rumble match.

Brock Lesnar stunned wrestling fans when the WWE star told McAfee of his intentions while live on the air. The ESPN personality and his show’s crew were left stunned with just a few days until the first major WWE event of the year takes place.

While many of the other contenders n the 2026 Royal Rumble field remains a mystery, former WWE champion Cody Rhodes recently revealed his intentions. Meanwhile, other big names to watch include Logan Paul, Roman Reigns, Randy Orton and others.

Royal Rumble will also have several other high-profile matchups, including Gunther facing off against AJ Styles. The latter will be putting his career on the line, so if Gunther wins then Styles will be forced to leave WWE.

The 2026 Royal Rumble will take place Jan. 31 at 1 p.m. ET on ESPN’s streaming platform. WWE recently moved its flagship events to ESPN’s airwaves, including Royal Rumble, WrestleMania and Summer Slam.
