The Magpies head to the Parc des Princes on the back of Sunday's home defeat to Aston Villa in the Premier League, and head coach Howe has shuffled his pack for the trip to the French capital with Dan Burn, Joe Willock, Jacob Ramsay, Anthony Elanga and Nick Woltemade all in from the start.
That means Kieran Trippier, Anthony Gordon, Harvey Barnes and Yoane Wissa all revert to the bench, with Joelinton missing United's final league phase outing against the current Champions League holders.
But fellow Brazilian international Bruno Guimarães is back on the bench after missing the Villa setback through injury.
Nick Pope, Lewis Hall, Sven Botman, Sandro Tonali and Malick Thiaw all keep their places in the starting 11, as does Lewis Miley.
Captain Guimarães joins two goalkeepers - Aaron Ramsdale and youngster Aidan Harris - among the substitutes with Jacob Murphy, Will Osula, Jacob Murphy and Alex Murphy also named on the bench.
Defender Burn - making his first start since December - will captain the Magpies against Luis Enrique's men.
