The Jacksonville Jaguars announced two additions to the coaching staff on Wednesday.

Mathieu Araujo will take over as the defensive pass game coordinator, and Brian Picucci will be the run game coordinator.

The addition of Araujo comes after the Jaguars moved on from secondary coach Ron Milus at the end of the 2025 season. Picucci joins the staff after assistant offensive line coach and run game specialist Keli'i Kekuewa was hired by Stanford University to be their offensive line coach.

Araujo was the Miami assistant defensive backs coach from 2022-2023 and was then promoted to cornerbacks coach in 2024, a title he held for the last two seasons.

Araujo did interview with the New York Jets for their defensive coordinator opening this hiring cycle.

In 2024, the Miami pass defense ranked third in yards per pass attempt allowed.

Picucci and head coach Liam Coen worked together at Tampa Bay during the 2024 season when Coen was the offensive coordinator there.

The two were also on the same coaching staff at Kentucky.

During their 2024 season together, the Bucs had one of the best rushing offenses in the NFL.

This announcement comes after the Jaguars were able to retain Grant Udinski and Anthony Campanile as their offensive and defensive coordinators.
