Let's make a way-way-too-early 53-man roster prediction for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Now, to state the obvious, what the roster looks like today in late January is not what it will look like come training camp. So accuracy is not the primary goal here since we don't know what additions will be made in the coming months.

Instead, what this offseason exercise highlights are the positional needs that GM James Gladstone has to tackle this offseason. For example, in terms of sheer numbers, the Jaguars are very thin on the defensive side of the ball right now.

Let's dive in.

Quarterback (3)

Trevor Lawrence, Nick Mullens, Carter Bradley

Perhaps the Jaguars add another developmental prospect to compete with Carter Bradley on the practice squad.

Running back (3)

Bhayshul Tuten, LeQuint Allen, Ja'Quinden Jackson

Does Travis Etienne return? If not, the Jaguars already have their top two running backs on the depth chart, but added depth for training camp is needed.

Wide receiver (6)

Brian Thomas Jr., Parker Washington, Jakobi Meyers, Austin Trammell, Tim Jones, Chandler Brayboy

Travis Hunter will factor in here as well. The Jaguars will still need to add more competition to the back end of this position group.

Tight end (4)

Brenton Strange, Johnny Mundt, Hunter Long, Patrick Herbert

This will be a position that Gladstone should prioritize a bit this offseason. Quintin Morris -- who was TE2 the second half of the season -- is a free agent, while Mundt and Long are entering the final year of their deals.

Offensive line (10)

Ezra Cleveland, Chuma Edoga, Robert Hainsey, Anton Harrison, Walker Little, Patrick Mekari, Cole Van Lanen, Wyatt Milum, Jonah Monheim, Ricky Lee

There's no such thing as too much competition on the offensive line, but the Jaguars are set up well at this position group entering the offseason.

Defensive line (8)

Josh Hines-Allen, Travon Walker, BJ Green, Danny Striggow, Arik Armstead, DaVon Hamilton, Maason Smith, Keivie Rose

More pass rush juice at defensive tackle and depth at both position groups should be high priorities.

Linebacker (6)

Yasir Abdullah, Branson Combs, Ventrell Miller, Foye Oluokun, Jalen McLeod, Jack Kiser

If Devin Lloyd isn't back, who is starting next to Oluokun?

Cornerback (5)

Travis Hunter, Jarrian Jones, Jourdan Lewis, Jabbar Muhammad, Trevian Thomas

These are all the cornerbacks on the Jaguars roster at the moment.

Safety (5)

Rayuan Lane, Eric Murray, Antonio Johnson, Caleb Ransaw, Cam'Ron Silmon-Craig

There are only five safeties on the current roster, so depth is needed, but this unit is positioned well entering the offseason.

Special teams (3)

Logan Cooke, Ross Matiscik, Cam Little

Zero questions here.
