Dartmouth offensive lineman Vasean Washington has committed to Ohio State out of the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. He spent the past four years at the Ivy League program.
Washington played in eight games for Dartmouth this season. He has now appeared in 26 games during his college career, dating back to 2022, his first year on campus.
Prior to enrolling at Dartmouth, Vasean Washington was a very lightly recruited prospect. He received a rating from only one of the four major recruiting services.
247Sports ranked Washington as a two-star prospect. It attached a grade of 75 to him, on a 100-point scale.
The addition of Vasean Washington gives Ohio State a total of 49 moves in the transfer portal now, as of the time of this writing. The program has added 17 players from the portal, while 32 have entered the portal on their way out.
Before the addition of Washington, Ohio State’s transfer portal class ranking checked in at No. 34 nationally. The average player rating of transfers coming in was 74.06.
Vasean Washington joins Ja’Kobi Jackson
One of the other significant additions for Ohio State via the transfer portal is Florida running back Ja’Kobi Jackson. Jackson spent three seasons with the Gators before transferring to join the Buckeyes.
He arrived at Florida after spending three years at Coahoma CC. In 2023, Jackson didn’t make any appearances, taking a redshirt in the process. But he would begin to get involved for Florida over the next two seasons.
Jackson was one of the team’s primary backup options in 2024, seeing nearly 100 touches. He rushed for 509 yards and seven touchdowns as a result.
Injuries, though, derailed Jackson’s 2025 campaign. He played in just four games, logging 27 carries for 98 yards while catching four passes for 27 yards. With Jadan Baugh opting to return to Florida as the lead back, Jackson began looking for an opportunity elsewhere.
