Cruz Beckham has poked fun at his brother Brooklyn’s claims that their mum Victoria danced ‘inappropriately’ on her eldest son during his wedding day.
After over a year of silence regarding rumours the Beckham brood were facing a massive fallout, on Monday night Brooklyn dropped a bombshell statement on social media in which he took aim at his family.
In the post, the 26-year-old – who has been married to model and socialite Nicola Peltz, 31, since 2022 – claimed that his mum, 51, had ‘hijacked’ the first dance at their wedding.
‘My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song. In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead,’ he wrote.
‘She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone, I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life. We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment.’
Soon after airing his claims, Brooklyn’s allegations set the internet alight – with many people declaring they were desperate to know more details, as well as sharing memes about what they thought might have happened.
With a string of celebrities weighing in, some eagle-eyed fans also noticed that Cruz, 20, had liked a post poking fun at Brooklyn’s comment about the dance.
A post by comedian olly_101 saw him acting as the DJ at the wedding, pretending to speak to guests and share: ‘And now for the song requested by the mother of the groom for her first dance with her son!’
He then plays the 1996 R&B hit Pony by Ginuwine – which surged in popularity after Channing Tatum performed a striptease to it in his Chippendales-inspired movie, Magic Mike.
The post was captioned: ‘Interesting moves Victoria.’
People quickly realised that Cruz saw the funny side of the clip, with many declaring: ‘The fact Cruz has liked this!’
‘Cruz Beckham likes this tho lmfaooooo,’ Chelsea commented.
‘Big shoutout to @cruzbeckham, who is laughing with us. What a sport!!’ Colleen added.
The comedian also noticed and shared a post on his Instagram stories, which read: ‘Made a skit about the Beckhams. Looks like they’re enjoying it [side eye emoji].’
The youngest of the Beckham sons, Cruz is a musician who released his debut single in 2016.
Just a few weeks ago he posted a photo dancing with Victoria on Instagram, with the pair seen dancing to Bob Seger’s hit Old Time Rock and Roll during Christmas celebrations.
A few days earlier, Cruz broke his silence on rumours of a family rift, declaring that Brooklyn had blocked his parents and brothers on social media.
‘My mum and dad would never unfollow their son…let’s get the facts right. They woke up blocked…as did I,’ he shared.
The day after Brooklyn dropped his shocking statement, his brother Romeo was also spotted dropping by his parent’s home in London with girlfriend Kim Turnbull, with the pair then heading to a juice shop in Notting Hill while walking their dog.
Although Brooklyn didn’t share any more details about his wedding dance in his statement, an article published by Vogue soon after his 2022 nuptials reported that the newlyweds’ first dance was to South African singer Lloyiso’s rendition of Elvis Presley’s Can’t Help Falling in Love.
Much later in the night, Marc Anthony then took to the stage to perform his track I Need To Know, at which point it was reported that ‘Brooklyn invited his mother on stage for a dance and they were joined by David and their 10-year-old daughter, Harper.
Soon after the allegations were made public, many people begged for the footage to be released.
‘Someone please release the wedding dance tape from Brooklyn Beckham’s wedding omgg,’ user Melchy posted on X.
‘I need to see how Victoria Beckham danced at Brooklyn’s wedding PLS SOMEONE FIND ME A VIDEO BC WHAT THE HELL IS THIS,’ bebestellaa declared.
‘Surely Brooklyn’s wedding was filmed more closely than airport security…we need to see footage of this dance!!!’ Maia wrote.
In his post, Brooklyn had also claimed that the night before his nuptials, ‘members of [his] family’ boldly told him that Nicola was ‘not blood’ and ‘not family’.

Launching his statement, he wrote: ‘I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.
‘I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.
‘For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into. Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.’
He went on to say his parents have been ‘trying endlessly to ruin [his] relationship since before [his] wedding, and it hasn’t stopped.’
