Al Sahwa students launch digital platform to promote active lifestyle

Muscat – A group of Omani school students has launched a digital platform designed to promote physical activity and improve access to sports coaching.

Established in November 2025 under the supervision of INJAZ Oman, Nashatt is a student-led company developed by pupils from Al Sahwa Schools. The platform connects users with certified coaches across various sports and physical activities, offering both online and in-person training options.

Speaking to Muscat Daily, Mohamed al Mahruqi, project team leader, said the idea emerged from discussions about the challenges many people face in maintaining an active lifestyle. He said high costs, limited access to qualified coaches and time constraints often discourage people from engaging in regular physical activity.

Through its digital platform, Nashatt enables users to search for coaches, book training sessions, follow structured workout programmes and track their progress. The platform is designed to make fitness guidance more accessible and organised.

The project also supports local coaches by providing them a digital space to present their services, manage bookings and reach a wider audience. Coaches can offer flexible training options while building their professional profile.

Nashatt (Instagram: @nashatt.om) is managed by a team of ten students, each assigned roles covering leadership, operations, marketing, technology planning and finance. The team includes Abdullah al Mahruqi, Hamed al Kalbani, Ahmed al Arami, Elyas al Harthi, Imran al Riyami, Abdulaziz al Musalmi, Ali al Maamari, Hamood al Said and Fahad al Adawi, besides Mohamed.

The students work collaboratively under the guidance of INJAZ Oman mentors and school supervisors.

According to the team, the project aims to encourage healthier habits among students and the wider community while supporting youth entrepreneurship. By linking users with professional coaches, Nashatt seeks to promote regular physical activity in a practical and flexible manner.

The team plans to develop the platform further and explore partnerships with schools, gyms and sports organisations. Plans are also in place to expand the range of sports offered and introduce additional features based on user needs, ahead of a wider public launch.
