Muscat – The Ministry of Education, represented by the Research and Innovation Authority (RIA), will launch the fourth Ejaad Leadership Forum on Wednesday at the St Regis Al Mouj Hotel and Resort, with the participation of around 200 executive and academic leaders and decision-makers from various sectors.
The forum will be held under the patronage of H E Dr Saif bin Abdullah al Hadabi, Chairman of RIA, and aims to strengthen private sector participation in funding scientific research and innovation, improve Oman’s performance in global indicators, and enhance the efficiency of the national research system through the unified Ejaad platform.
The event will also focus on activating applied industrial research projects and maximising the value of research and innovation within the industrial sector. It will highlight the State of Qatar’s experience in promoting research and innovation in industry, alongside Ejaad’s role in linking research outputs with economic priorities.
The programme includes a presentation on the industrial sector’s experience in scientific research and innovation of ARA Petroleum, the signing of membership agreements and joint research projects, and a panel discussion on the role of industry in leading research and innovation and aligning national objectives with research opportunities.
The forum will also witness the launch of the National Database for Devices and Equipment, (Madaat), a digital platform designed to organise and facilitate access to research and technological equipment across government, academic and industrial institutions. The platform is expected to improve resource utilisation and strengthen integration among stakeholders.
On the sidelines, the forum will host the ‘Opportunities Market’, a national platform connecting research and innovation outputs with the needs of Oman’s economic and industrial sectors. The initiative supports the goals of Oman Vision 2040 to build a competitive, knowledge-based economy driven by innovation and increased local content.
The Opportunities Market will address priority industrial challenges by identifying practical solutions and encouraging partnerships between academic institutions and industry.
Organisers expect the Opportunities Market to enhance the commercial readiness of national projects, open new avenues for collaboration and support technology localisation, contributing to sustainable economic impact and reinforcing Ejaad’s role in translating research and innovation into practical national value.
