Muscat – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik presided over a formal swearing-in ceremony at Al Barakah Palace on Wednesday for several newly appointed senior government officials. The ceremony marked the official commencement of duties for high-ranking members of the administration following recent Royal Decrees aimed at strengthening the Sultanate’s administrative and economic leadership. Among those taking the oath of office was H H Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham al Said, who has been appointed as Minister of State and Governor of Muscat, a pivotal role in the capital’s urban and strategic development.
The proceedings also included the swearing-in of H E Anwar bin Hilal al Jabri as the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, a portfolio central to the delivery of Oman Vision 2040. Furthermore, Sayyid Faisal bin Hamoud al Busaidi took the oath as Governor of Musandam, alongside Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah al Hinai, who assumes the role of Ambassador-at-Large at the Foreign Ministry. This formal transition of power underscores the Sultanate’s commitment to administrative excellence and the continued evolution of its domestic governance and international diplomatic representation.
