INSV Kaundinya completes historic voyage to Muscat

Muscat – The Indian Naval Sailing Vessel (INSV) Kaundinya has successfully docked at Port Sultan Qaboos in Muscat, marking the conclusion of an arduous 18-day transoceanic journey from India. The six-member crew, consisting of naval officers, was greeted with a formal reception upon arrival, celebrating a feat of maritime endurance and skill. This voyage was undertaken as part of a strategic initiative to foster maritime cooperation and commemorate the historical sailing links between India and the Sultanate of Oman.

Throughout the expedition, the crew navigated challenging weather conditions and varying sea states, relying solely on wind power and traditional navigational expertise. The mission serves as a testament to the rigorous training of the Indian Navy’s sailing cadre and highlights the shared maritime heritage that has long connected the two nations across the Arabian Sea. The successful arrival in Muscat is viewed as a significant milestone in strengthening bilateral naval ties and promoting the spirit of adventure and professional excellence within the maritime domain.
