Mysterious Coronation Street newcomer Jodie (Olivia Frances-Brown) has left us with a lot of questions since she first appeared in Corriedale as Emmerdale villain Graham Foster’s (Andrew Scarborough) hostage.
Her matching tattoo with Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) hinted at a connection between the two, and our suspicions that this was the case were strengthened further when Jodie began following her to different hospitals either side of the Pennines.
Tonight, Shona told a bewildered David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) that Jodie was her half-sister, after he appeared baffled that she could keep a sibling secret from him.
Jodie and David first met last week, just after Shona had given birth to baby Harper. She’d asked about them both, and David was thrilled to share the happy news with the stranger.
Later, he was surprised when Jodie showed up at Shona’s bedside, and their conversation revealed to David that they were siblings.
Shona has a lot going on at the moment, with a sick, premature baby in the NICU and her own trauma from the pile-up to deal with, so we can’t really blame her for wanting to hit pause on the family reunion – especially considering the vibes between them suggest there’s some complicated history.
However, she made it clear she was willing to get back in contact with Jodie once her life had calmed down some, instructing David to take her mobile number so Shona could call.
Jodie seemed disappointed by Shona’s decision, but accepted it gracefully, leaving them both alone.
But when David emerged from the hospital a little while later, he found Jodie outside in the middle of a panic attack. He helped back inside and made sure she was seen by a nurse, before checking that she had somewhere to stay.
When Jodie admitted she’d need to look for a shelter, David instantly offered up the spare room. Jodie was eager to accept, but wanted to know if Shona would be okay with it first.

David shrugged off her concerns, promising to speak to Shona later. Grateful, Jodie let David take her home before he headed back to the hospital to be with Shona and Harper.
It was then that Jodie turned her phone on and was bombarded with tens of missed calls, in addition to the calls and messages that had triggered her panic attack outside the hospital. Who is trying so desperately to get in contact?

When we first saw Jodie, she was tied up in the back of a van. She managed to escape and legged it through the woods, where she ran straight into a tree and knocked herself out, later ending up in hospital.
Is Jodie in serious danger after her escape? Could someone still be out to get her? And has David just put his whole family at risk by welcoming her into their home – and against Shona’s wishes?
