Commuters were left stranded underground in Tube trains after the Victoria Line was suspended.

The Victoria line is still suffering severe delays due to a signal failure at Green Park, Transport for London said.

It remains part suspended between Warren Street and Brixton.

The Windrush Line is also facing severe delays due to an earlier signal failure at West Croydon.

One commuter in a Victoria line Tube carriage said: ‘Stuck in a tunnel on the Victoria line and whenever the driver speaks we can’t hear him.

‘Tannoy not working. It’s very hot, when will we move?’

TfL apologised and said: ‘Currently, we are operating with severe delays while we fix a signal failure at Green Park. I hope you are on the move soon.’

A second Londoner posted that they had been stuck in a tunnel between two stations for 30 minutes.

Travel to Heathrow Airport was also disrupted this morning due to a fire last night.

There is a reduced service on the Heathrow Express after a fireball was seen erupting above a recycling centre in Southall.
