H H Honourable Lady visits Musandam

KHASAB  -The Honourable Lady Assayida Ahd Abdullah Hamed al Busaidi, Spouse of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik,  , paid a visit to Musandam Governorate on Saturday.

During the visit, H H toured Bassa Beach Park in the Wilayat of Khasab, one of the key tourism and development projects in the governorate. The park serves as a recreational destination for residents and visitors alike and reflects ongoing efforts to enhance the tourism sector.

Her Highness also visited the Zaree Khasab exhibition initiative and the Craft House outlet affiliated with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority. She viewed a range of handicrafts, artisanal works, jewellery and distinctive products created by local craftsmen, showcasing Musandam’s authentic heritage and reflecting the diversity of its environment and the richness of its cultural legacy.

Commending the efforts to highlight Omani craft heritage, Her Highness praised initiatives that support traditional industries and contribute to strengthening the community economy.

The visit also included a tour of the Wilayat of Bukha, where Her Highness visited the historic mosque in the wilayat centre. She was briefed on the mosque’s civilisational and religious significance, its reflection of Omanis’ long-standing care for Islamic architecture, and the authentic artistic and architectural features it embodies.

In the Wilayat of Khasab, Her Highness visited the Musandam Females Market, affiliated with the Omani Women’s Association. The market featured various pavilions highlighting aspects of Musandam Governorate and reflecting its rich heritage, social customs and traditional lifestyles, underscoring the depth of local identity and cultural distinctiveness.

At the market, H H  was briefed on the community roles undertaken by the Omani Women’s Association in Khasab, in coordination with other associations in the governorate, in supporting productive families, empowering women, enhancing community participation and developing craft skills. These efforts contribute to preserving cultural heritage and reinforcing values of authenticity and belonging.

Her Highness expressed her appreciation for the efforts and initiatives undertaken, noting their positive impact on the community, and wished those involved continued success.

During the visit, Her Highness was accompanied by Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said al Busaidi, Governor of Musandam, along with a number of female ministers and senior officials.
