Drag Race winner Tyra Sanchez has shared plans to file a lawsuit against RuPaul and Michelle Visage in a damning new social media post.
The drag star, 37, whose non-stage name is James Ross, won the second season of RuPaul’s Drag Race in 2010 and has since been involved in a series of controversies.
In 2018, Ross was banned from attending DragCon after posting online threats and has also had multiple arrests, including for ‘spray-painting graffiti’ and for ‘assaulting and threatening a police officer’.
Earlier this year, fans slammed Ross after he appeared to mock the death of The Vivienne.
Now, Ross has posted his plans to sue RuPaul, judge Visage and the production company behind Drag Race, World of Wonder (WOW).
On Facebook, Ross posted an old interview clip of Visage saying that if she had been a judge on the show for season two, she ‘would have fought really hard’ for season two runner-up Raven to win.
In the caption of the Facebook post, Ross then asserted claims against the trio of ‘intentional infliction of emotional distress, defamation, false light, and tortious interference with prospective economic advantage.’
The statement claimed that for over a decade they had tried to ‘discredit, disparage, and destroy his professional reputation’ with a ‘reckless regard for the truth and with the intent to incite hatred, harassment, and ostracisation within the entertainment industry and among the public.’
Accusing them of a ‘systemic and malicious campaign’, he then presented a lengthy list of alleged examples, including a skit of RuPaul slapping Ross in the face, which RuPaul ‘reposted’ on social media last year.
It also comes after RuPaul crowned Raven the winner of the Snatch Game when she appeared as a guest on Drag Race All Stars 10 in July 2025, calling it ‘the moment you’ve all been waiting for’.
Ross made allegations against WOW for filing a ‘false police report accusing [him] of threatening to “blow up DragCon”‘ in 2018, and for airing ‘defamatory’ storylines on Drag Race.
The reality star concluded he ‘seeks affirmative relief, including compensatory and punitive damages, as well as declaratory relief acknowledging the Defendants’ wrongful conduct.’
It is understood that no lawsuit has yet been filed.
