Leigh-Anne Pinnock has shared that her husband Andre Gray went to therapy to save their marriage after he ‘broke’ her heart.
The former Little Mix star and the footballer, both 34, have been married since 2023 and are parents to twin daughters born in 2021.
Singer Leigh-Anne, who recently revealed she only sees her husband ‘three days a month’ due to his international career, has now said the couple went through a ‘weird time’ where she felt betrayed and as though she had lost trust.
Andre then decided to seek professional help in a bid to salvage the relationship.
During an appearance on Paloma Faith’s Mad Sad Bad podcast, Leigh-Anne explained: ‘I went through a bit of a weird time with my husband actually and – I mean, I wrote a whole EP about it – but that sort of not being totally honest and losing trust and that kind of betrayal, I think.
‘Heartbreak is wild, it’s awful and especially someone that you’re so madly in love with and think that they are as well – and they can hurt you.’
Leigh-Anne went on to clarify the couple’s problems started before Andre’s move to Greece to play for Super league Greece club Aris Thessaloniki – but being by himself in another country actually gave the sportsman time to reflect.
‘I think that person has to want to change and he did. And I think you can go through things in a relationship, but if they aren’t willing to change for you, forget it,’ the Don’t Say Love hitmaker added.
‘They have to do the work, and they have to turn it around because – again – it’s not you, it’s not on you. [He went to] therapy and I think what really helped for us, he started playing abroad and he had more time to himself to kind of look and realise that everything that he was doing was not how you make a relationship work, it’s not. It’s selfish.’
This isn’t the first time Leigh-Anne has spoken about her relationship issues with Andre, who now plays for Turkish side Fatih Karagümrük, revealing in 2024 when asked about her last ‘heartbreak’ that it was her husband who was responsible.
However, she added that he’d changed his ways and they are now in a ‘beautiful place’.
‘I learnt the power of forgiveness. I’m still with the person who broke my heart and he went out of his way to change for me,’ she told Dose of Society on TikTok.
‘I think if you can actually get to the other side and make it through, it makes it all worthwhile.
‘Some people might say: “Oh, well why are you still with them?” or “Why are you still giving them another chance?” I guess that can be seen as a weakness, not putting yourself first, but I think only you know what is truly right for you.
‘If that person can really show that they want to change – you cannot change somebody – but if they go out of their way to change themselves, I really do think that kind of tells you everything you need to know.
‘For me personally I had to go through these struggles and things in our relationship to get to the point where we are now, which is a really beautiful place.’
