Ronan Keating has revealed that Bozyone’s next two live shows are likely to be their last – bringing their total of farewell concerts to three.
The Irish boyband originally formed in 1993 and scored five UK number ones in the 1990s, along with four UK number one albums.
Made up of members Ronan Keating, Stephen Gately, Michael Graham, Keith Duffy, and Shane Lynch, the group went on hiatus in the year 2000 after seven years.
Ronan went solo for a while, landing number ones of his own, before the band reformed in 2007 to record new music – their 2010 album Brother also topped the UK charts after Gately’s tragic death, aged just 33.
The group split again in 2019 after what many believed was their final series of shows, which the vocal group called the Thank You & Good Night Tour.
Now, in a surprise move, that tour has been extended eight years after it began, with two additional concerts set to take place at Arsenal FC’s Emirates Stadium in June 2026.
On June 5 and June 6, Ronan, Michael, Keith, and Shane will take to the stage once more for what Ronan is strongly insisting are Boyzone’s last ever public concerts.
He told Vernon Kay on BBC Radio 2: ‘It’s a farewell tour. There’s no new music. We’re not getting the band back together again. We’re not touring across the world.
‘There are offers coming in left, right and centre to go to Asia, to go into Europe. It’s a blanket no – this is it,’ adding: ‘It would be incredibly unhealthy for us to do it.’
Ronan continued: ‘We’d take a massive step backwards in our lives. And to come away from that then, there’d be a lot of work on rebuilding ourselves individually to the strong people that we feel we are now.’
He continued: ‘We all have our own lives and careers away from the band, but we can come back for that week. It’ll be spectacular. We’ll put on all the fireworks and make it magic.’
The Life is a Rollercoaster singer, 48, promised that there would be ‘tears’ but pledged to ‘go out on a high’, adding: ‘That’ll be our final chapter written.’
Ronan’s latest comments have come seven years after the band announced their second split, asking fans to ‘raise the roof one last time’ ahead of what they described as their 2018-19 farewell tour.
When questioned over a 30th anniversary reunion in 2023, Ronan insisted the boys were not planning on getting back together, referring to their 2019 farewell as ‘the final chapter’.
In an interview with The Scotsman, Ronan said that the death of Gately in 2009 ended the band for him, and that he had struggled to accept Boyzone as a four-piece.
‘For me the band ended when Stephen passed and I’ve never been able to come to terms with the band as a four-piece. We went out on a high after 25 years. We wrote that final chapter.’
However, the success of their No Matter What documentary in 2025 appears to have changed their minds, and tickets for the two shows – priced between £60 and £150 – are already going fast.
