At least one person is in custody after several windows were smashed at the home of Vice President JD Vance.

Secret service agents were seen at Vance’s home in the East Walnut Hills area of Cincinnati on early Monday morning.

The security force alerted police at 12.15am after seeing someone running from the property, a police source told Fox19 Now.

Police who were at the scene for ‘several hours’ on Sunday night, said they ‘have a suspect’, WLWT5 reports.

News5 Cleveland reports that at least one person is in custody.

Vance was in Cincinnati for the last week but left on Sunday afternoon.

Video shows large holes in the windows of Vance’s property with officers patrolling the scene and taking pictures of the damage.

The Vice President owns the property which overlooks the Ohio River.

It spans 2.3 acres and cost $1.4 million (£1.04 million) for Vance to buy.

Vance and his wife Usha also own homes in the Capitol Hill neighbourhood of Washington DC and in Alexandria, Virginia.

They have also lived in the official residence for the U.S. Vice President, Number One Observatory Circle, since his inauguration in January 2025.
