Matheus Cunha rescued a point for Manchester United against Leeds at Elland Road on Sunday after a mistake from youngster Ayden Heaven.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin was inches away from scoring in the first half after hitting the post from a superb Anton Stach cross – while Leny Yoro forced a brilliant save out of Lucas Perri – but it remained goalless at the break.
In the second half, Brenden Aaronson broke the deadlock after an error from Heaven but United responded 174 seconds later as substitute Joshua Zirkzee provided the assist for Cunha’s 65th-minute leveller.
Cunha almost won it for Ruben Amorim’s men in the last 10 minutes, with the United star denied by the post, as the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
The result means United have temporarily moved up to fifth in the Premier League table but they will drop down if Chelsea earn a point at Manchester City later today or if Sunderland secure an away win over Tottenham.
