The Traitors fans might have once again proven their sleuthing stripes, after uncovering an apparent connection between two of the Faithful in the castle.

The serial killing BBC juggernaut returned on Friday night for this season’s first roundtable, which saw Doncaster child liaison officer Judy banished, only to reveal she was a Faithful, despite Sam’s suspicions.

In the first episode of the show Roxy shared that Judy is in fact her mum – something she nearly divulged to her cast members with a slip of the tongue during the mission.

The Traitors fans think they might now have discovered a connection between Ellie and Ross hiding in plain sight – if plain sight is on LinkedIn.

The evidence the pair already know each other has been unpacked on the metaphorical corkboard that is Reddit, where fans shared the goods in the form of links to Ellie’s LinkedIn account.

There, Ross has publicly commented on several of Ellie’s work updates with supportive messages that would imply he knows her a bit more than the non-existent amount he claimed when they first sat opposite one another on the train to the castle.

When Ellie shared the news she had qualified as a chartered psychologist, Ross commented: ‘Congratulations! Great work Dr Buckley.’

Then when Ellie said she had received a promotion at work in another post, he wrote: ‘Major achievement Dr Buckley. Incredibly well deserved. Bravo!’ which Ellie liked.

When one fan on Reddit suggested they might secretly be a couple, @Slowerthanaprop15 quipped: ‘Their ‘meeting’ on the train was hilariously bad acting.’

Meanwhile, @Terrible-pedigree shared a theory that, if true, would be a game-changer: ‘We were wondering with the photo of the family tree if they all are linked to someone else…’

Viewers will now likely have their eyes trained on all of Ross and Ellie’s interactions, so stay tuned.

Ross has already had one surprise connection in the castle, to nursery school teacher Netty, who became the first Faithful to be murdered by the Traitors on Friday.

Now there are three more players up for murder on Saturday night: retiree Ben, sweet shop assistant Reece, and for the second night in a row, civil servant Maz.

Metro contacted the BBC for comment on this story.

The Traitors continues on BBC One and iPlayer on January 3 at 7.45pm.
